Aroha Magazine Guidelines
Please read the guidelines below before submitting
All work must be 100% origional and your own work. Please also include a short bio 50 words or less and emails/site links that you'd like included to be published if you are accepted.

If we recieve submissions during any other time apart from the months mentioned above they will be deleted unread.
General Articles (tutorials, non fiction, articles ect)
Articles and tutorials: We like articles on anything that will benifit writers and artists. These can be tutorials, forms,types of art, character forming, ways of getting published, bios on old authors and artists, photography techniques, choosing the right camera,lighting, paints and anything else along those lines. Non-Fiction: Non fiction articles can be about anything that contributes to your writing and art, fears, hardships, inspirations, achievements, dreams and so on, just make it emotive and something that pulls the readers in and leaves them with something they can take with them. Length: Articles, non fiction stories and tutorials (tutorials can include pictures) should be a minimum of 200 words and should not exceed 2000 words. Please send only one at a time, if we want more we will ask for more if you have it.
Poetry
Poetry: Poetry should be imaginitive, expressive, meaningful, explosive, original and unique. It needs to grab the mind, heart and soul of the reader, they can be in any form and be about anything, dreams, sci-fi, horror, thriller, mystery, romance, weird, unusual, humour, love and hearbreak ect. We will not publish anything overly abusive, violent or explicted language, or anything that degrades any race, persons, sex, country or religion. Length: Each poem should not exceed 100 lines.You can submit up to 5 poems at a time.
Short Stories
Short Stories: Short stories should be very character orientated, have a deep plot. Its got to be something that will hold the reader's attention from start to finish, be unique and origional. We publish any genre, sci-fi, fantasy, romance, humour, horror, crime, mystery, weird and works that don't really fit a category. We will not publish anything overly abusive, violent or explicted language, or anything that degrades any race, persons, sex, country or religion. Length: Stories must not exceed 3000 words. We also like flash fiction of no more than 500 words. You can submit up to 2 stories at a time.
Photography and Art
Artwork and Photographs: Paintings, drawings, digital art and photographs should be artistic, tasteful, expressive, unique and origional. It needs to draw the reader in and leave them in awe, make them think. Artwork can be on any subject but we will not publish anything overly violent, abusive or anything that degrades any race, persons, sex, country or religion. Size: All art work and photography considered for cover art in the print version of the magazine needs to be atleast 8.5" by 11" and anything inside the magazine needs to be atleast 6" by 4" (art and photography inside the print magazine will be converted to black and white) Art work and photography on the website whether it is cover art or not may be to be resized. You can send up to 5 pieces at a time or give a link to where you art is posted on the web.
Please Note
We will only publish work that is 100% origional and your own work. We only publish previously unpublished work, we dont accept reprints or simultainious work. Please only submit once per issue. If your work has been accepted for a feature we will email you to ask for more work (if needed), a photo if you wish for it to be placed in the magazine, a longer bio and questions for an interview.
Rights
First Rights. If your work is accepted and once notified you still agree for your work to be published, we ask permission for the First Rights for publishing online and in the hard copy magazine. Once the new issue is released (every 2 months) all rights revert back to the author/artists.
Response Times
We try to respond to submissions within 4 weeks. If it is longer than this please send query.
